What About Gay?

What about Gay?

Is she happy?

Is her sister Joy?

Or is she some sinister

Misnomer out to eat your lunch?

Strip all of us to nothing but our soul

And you will find us naught

But flesh and blood

And full of imperfection

Regardless of the category we are stuffed into.

Do I like Gays?

Of course, I do.

It is a lovely name for lovely girls

With sisters named Joy.

Oh.  You meant something else?

Sorry, I can't hear you over the

Clatter of stereotypical sortings

Of each being into their class.

Lord knows, we have to get the labels right

Or someone won't know who they are.
