Ego Driven Madness

"He could change if he wanted to!"

We whisper as he walks by

Wearing all he owns on him.

We never weigh the why.

It's that ego driven madness.

The pride that takes the fall

To give our sin the peace of mind

To hide behind these walls.

Would we be so quick to judge

If our dreams just woke up dead?

Left with nothing for us,

But the voices in our head.

We read it in the paper.

"Undesirable's going down!"

Hail the politicians war cry

For a new law to be found.

In our cruel considerations

We crack a heartless whip

Never seeing all the reasons

It could be us instead of him.

Face to face with our creator,

Would we rather stand and say

We tried to save a vagrants life?

Or left him dead to lay.
